EastEnders has aired some more dark scenes, as the child-to-parent
abuse storyline involving Tommy Moon and Kat Slater continued tonight (October 9).
In this latest instalment of the BBC One soap, Jay Brown showed Kat and Phil Mitchell
the latest video message from his late wife Lola, which he received for his 30th birthday, while Freddie was trying to test our a new microphone for birdsongs, but Tommy was ruining the moment.
Kat asked him to pipe down, but he venomously told her to “Shut it.” When Phil asked Kat if she was going to let him talk to her like that, she kept quiet and avoided eye contact.
Later on, she tried to confront Tommy about Kathy Beale catching him trying to steal from the café.
“You ain’t doing a very good job [providing], are ya?” he admitted, leaving her stunned.
“You’re staying here, I need to talk to you,” Kat said as she tried to stop him leaving, only for him to turn around and punch her square in the face.
He looked upset at what he did but didn’t say anything at first. In a later scene, he said: “Look, I’m sorry alright, I didn’t mean nothing. It was an accident, can you just forget it?”
A defeated Kat let him go to Denzel’s birthday party without any further conversation, before staring solemnly at the injury under her eye in the mirror.
