Chicago Fire: 10 Things You Didn’t Know About The Cast

Chicago Fire is the parent show in the Chicago franchise.

It is through it that the equally successful spin-offs such

as Chicago P.D., and Chicago Med  were born.

All the shows in the franchise (four in total) were created by the popular TV producer Dick Wolf.

Despite only being in its eight-season, Chicago Fire has been renewed for three more seasons, guaranteeing a run of up to Season 11. This is thanks to the show’s brilliant ratings. Here are details about its incredible cast members that are not so well-known.

Eamonn Walker And Jesse Spencer Were Assigned A Voice Coach For Their American Accents

The two co-stars normally have sessions with the same voice coach who makes sure their American accent. Walker is British while Spencer is Australian. Apparently, Walker only speaks the way he does on the show while working and switches back to his normal accent later.

During an interview with the Chicago Tribune, he said: “Between action and cut, I do American. And the rest of my life, I do British.” Hopefully, the voice coach will get a salary boost. The two sound very convincing as Americans.

In Chicago Fire, Steven plays the firefighter and paramedic Jimmy Borreli. Though he hasn’t gotten the blockbuster roles that his grandfather used to get, he has appeared in a number of popular TV shows over the years.

Taylor Kinney Dated Lady Gaga

Taylor Kinney plays Lieutenant Kelly Severide who oversees Squad 3 in Chicago Fire. Back in 2011, he began a relationship with popular singer Lady Gaga. The two met in Nebraska while Gaga was shooting a music video for her hit single “You and I.”

Kinney happened to be one of the actors with small roles in the video. Their relationship stayed alive for several years. In 2015, they announced their engagement but unfortunately, they broke up a year later.

Some Of The Stars Formed A Biker Gang

They’re likely not going to shoot or beat anyone up like Jax Teller in Sons Of Anarchy but yes, some of the cast members are so close that they’ve formed a mini biker gang. Taylor Kinney, Eamonn Walker, and Monica Raymund are said to enjoy roaming around Chicago together while riding motorcycles.No one knows what their gang name is at this point. The Flame Sons?  About the gang, Walker said: “We’ve got our own little biker gang. We put on their helmets so as not to be recognized.” Quite amazing.

Jesse Spencer Is In An Actors Band

Spencer, who plays Captain Matt Casey, is a huge music lover. When he was a young boy, he was part of the Australian Boys Choir. The popular choir gave various performances in the country from 1986 to 1992.

Currently, he is part of Band From TV. This is a band made up of actors from various TV shows. The band was founded back in 2007. It donates all the money from performances and recordings to various charities across the United States.

Monica Raymund Is A Vocal Member Of The LGBT Community

Monica Raymund portrayed the former paramedic Gabriela “Gabby” Dawson. The actress who has had several lead roles in her career identifies as bisexual. This is something she has often been open about.

Most recently, she has been dating cinematographer Tari Segal. Previously, she was married to writer and director Neil Patrick Stewart. The two divorced in 2014. It was after the divorce that she announced she was bisexual on Twitter.

Annie Ilonzeh portrays the paramedic Emily Foster Ambulance 61. She majored in finance after going to college on a 4-year basketball scholarship, However, one day she decided to ditch finance and pursue acting. This disappointed her parents.

Annie moved to Los Angeles to pursue her dream career. Her father gave her an ultimatum to make it in the industry by one year or come back home. Luckily, she began landing supporting roles on a frequent basis and thus didn’t have to go back home.

Kara Killmer’s role is that of the paramedic Sylvie Brett who replaced Lesley Shey. She first did TV reality TV shows before landing a role in the CBS series. A year, later she appeared in her first movie which was the action-adventure revolutionary thriller Beyond the Mask

In the indie movie, she starred alongside Andrew Cheney who she ended up marrying two years later. The two have been together ever since. She has only appeared in one more movie ever since.

Joe Minoso’s Girlfriend Made Him Get Into Acting

Joe Minoso is lucky enough to use his real first name in Chicago Fire. He has portrayed the firefighter and engineer Joe Cruz since the second season.

Joe got interested in acting when he saw his high school girlfriend performing in a school play. After she took him backstage, he was sold. He joined the crew a short while later and ended up performing in a number of plays. He would later land his first TV role in Prison Break where he played Chaz Fink.

David Eigenberg Was In The US Military

Eigenberg is best known for portraying Lieutenant Christopher Herrmann, on Chicago Fire. Back in 1982, Eigenberg joined the United States Marine Corps Reserve. He ended up serving his country for three years before leaving after having earned the rank of Lance Corporal.

Eigenberg has appeared in all season of Chicago Fire. His filmography mostly consists of guest roles in other TV shows. He also has no major feature film roles.  Christopher Herrmann is the character he has played the longest.
