The cast is going to be in shambles after their “biggest accident” ever.
Grab your tissues, Chicago Fire fans, because the show’s upcoming
season seven fall finale is promising even more heartbreak.
Chicago Fire’s final 2018 episode, which will air on NBC on Wednesday, December 5, is set to feature their most devastating tragedy to date, producer Derek Haas told TV Guide. “The episode is going to end in such a way where most of our viewers are gonna be furious with me,” he told the outlet.
In the sneak peek above for “Always a Catch,” a colossal car crash will affect those close to Firehouse 51, leading to the “biggest accident we’ve ever done on the show.”
While Derek didn’t disclose those who will be affected by the wreck, he did reveal that Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) will face more hardships following his father’s death. “Sometimes when he hits these emotional tragedies in his life, he tends to wreck things and I think you’re gonna see the manifestations of that,” Derek said.
And while Severide is in for more heartache, which will affect his relationship with Stella (Miranda Rae Mayo), fans can rest easy knowing there’s a budding romance coming as well. In the teaser, Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer) and Naomi Graham (Kate Villanova) get closer. But don’t get too excited yet!
“I wouldn’t consider this his next big relationship,” Derek said. But he added, “I don’t think you’re gonna be disappointed in what’s coming for Casey in the second half of the season.”
Tune in on December 5 at 9 p.m. EST on NBC to see what’s in store for Severide, Casey, and the rest of Firehouse 51 before the show wraps up for 2018.
