Emmerdale fans only just realise Claire King starred in rival soap – and she hasn’t changed

gobsmacked after spotting Claire King in a rival soap. Soap legend Claire is

best known for playing Kim Tate on ITV’s Emmerdale. The 62-year-old first set foot in the Dales back in 1989 and quickly became one of the show’s most iconic characters. She first set foot in the Dales back in 1989 Claire ended up leaving in 1999 in a bid to explore other opportunities. However, 20 years later, she made an epic to the ITV soap. Throughout her years on the soap, the character has been involved in some of its biggest storylines. From saucy affairs to even faking her own death, her time in the Dales has not been short of drama. So much so at the moment, as this week, it was revealed that she is the one behind cheating husband Will’s (Dean Andrews) blackmail ordeal. Fans will recall that Will has been blackmailed for the past few weeks about his night of passion with his ex Rose (Christine Tremarco).

However, Emmerdale fans have recently spotted Claire in a rival soap from years ago – with some viewers admitting they had no idea she appeared on the show. On an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, a viewer uploaded a photo of Claire on Channel 4’s Hollyoaks. The fan captioned the photo: “Kim Tate in Hollyoaks.” Claire appeared on Hollyoaks ( Image: PA) And it seemed other social media users were just as floored. One person wrote in the comment section: “I watch Hollyoaks and don’t remember her being in it, when was she in it?” Someone else added: “She hasn’t changed.”

A third chimed in on the platform and proclaimed: “I didn’t know she was in Hollyoaks!” Claire appeared on Hollyoaks back in 2005, playing prison governor Andrea Mason QC for a guest role in six episodes. As well as Hollyoaks and Emmerdale, Claire has also starred in Corrie. Claire has become a telly legend The actress appeared on the soap between 2014 and 2017. She took on the role of Erica Holroyd with the character involved in several romances with show legends Nick Platt (Ben Price) and Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin). Claire first gained recognition as part of the girl pop group To Be Continued. She later starred in the 1987 film Eat the Rich, and bagged the role as Kim Tate in Emmerdale two years later.
