EastEnders icon Diane Parish has paid a lovely tribute to her co-star and on-screen husband Scott
Maslen, and shared a photo of them recreating a pose they did 20 years ago.
Diane has been playing Denise Fox on the soap since 2006, while Scott joined as Jack
Branning a year later. The estranged couple tied the knot on Christmas Day 2021. For those wondering where they were working together in 2004 in a life before Albert Square, Diane and Scott were then appearing on another long-running serial drama together – The Bill.

Alongside the ‘then and now’ photos of the pair posing for the camera (with Scott pulling a jokingly sinister smile), Diane wrote: “Then and Now. Known and been working with @mrscottmaslen for over 20 something years. Recreated this picture at work @bbceastenders today.
“Top pic is from our days on The Bill. I’d like to say no actors were harmed in the filming of that scene but… well, he knows the rest. The eyes tell the story!”

Diane added: “Sometimes we are blessed not only to work with friends but friends who are great actors and Scott Maslen is one of the best I know.
“So thrilled he is nominated for an #insidesoapawards award this year. All of us are. Been and is a pleasure to work with the little nut nut. #truegent”

“Love this photo!!” commented current Peter Beale actor Thomas Law, while Ricky Champ, who played Stuart Highway on EastEnders, wondered if the pair could write a book about their 20 years of soap adventures.
“This is pure and utter Gold! Two of the best, being the best” added Ashley Byam, who plays Finlay Baker. “Love ya both!! I can only imagine the shenanigans.”
Perhaps Diane, Scott, or even both of them, might talk about their time on The Bill in co-star Lacey Turner’s new soaps podcast that was announced just this week.
