There’s way more love in store for Chicago Fire’s Casey.

After Gabby Dawson (Monica Raymund) exited the series and effectively

broke our hearts, we weren’t sure what would happen to Casey (Jesse Spencer) in

the romance department. But lately, a new possible relationship has started to gain traction.

In the past, it seemed like Casey had some chemistry with Brett (Kara Killmer) but since he was with Dawson and she was with Antonio (Jon Seda) everyone focused mainly on their BFF-ness. But with both of those characters out of the picture, that leaves room for a different connection for Casey and Brett.

And it turns out that actor Jesse doesn’t think it’s too far-fetched an idea, either. In a new interview with Us Weekly, he admitted he’s actually rooting for the pals to become a couple.

“I would like to see them get together because what they’re building right now is a friendship and it feels organic,” he said. “They had different situations, but they’re quite similar, and they both have a bit of an ugly past.”

We’ll even start to see it blossoming in an upcoming episode. “It’s very interwoven with Brett’s biological mother,” he said. “They go on this adventure to rescue this cat and she opens up about her mother and it shows them developing their relationship.”

He added, “They’re healing and healing together. I think it’s an organic way for it to happen.” Aww!!!
