Virgin River season 6 – what is Everett, Mel’s father, hiding?

First, a short summary – after initially sending her away, Mel’s biological father (Alexandra Breckenridge) appears in front of her house and admits that he is actually her father and that he lied earlier. Then he suggests that he wants to tell his daughter something important, and that’s where the story ends. The showrunner of the series announced that this is something that will touch Mel “personally.” Fans have their own theories as to what it could be about, and the most popular one was presented by Screen Rant.

One of the most popular theories is that Mel may have half-siblings – what’s more, some believe that her sister could be Charmaine (Lauren Hammersley). Such a thread would certainly tie Everett more closely to the titular town, and as the showrunner announced, season 6 will explore who Everett Reid is.

Another theory is that Everett may be trying to convey a message about an inherited genetic condition that she may also have, or tell her that he himself is terminally ill and dying. The possibility that Mel’s father will tell Mel something very important about her deceased mother cannot be ruled out.
