We might get to see a familiar face return to Firehouse 51. Chicago Fire looks a little
different these days. We still have beloved charaters like Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) and
Joe Cruz (Joe Minoso), but the last few seasons have seen the departure of lots of Firehouse
51 veterans. Consequently, the show has brought in new faces to spice things up and ensure that the show keeps going strong. The show has done a good job thus far, but a recent IG photo from Chicago Fire gaffer Anthony Lullo suggests that we may be getting a familiar face back in the mix for season 13. Chicago Fire is allegedly bringing Kylie Estevez back Lullo posted a photo in front of a poster board charting out the different rankings for Firehouse 51. Most of the rankings are known to the viewer, but there was one name in particular that caught fans off guard: Kylie Estevez.
The board states that Estevez will be part of Truck 81 in season 13, which is headed by Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo). This makes sense for a lot of reasons. For one, Truck 81 has struggled to maintain consistency since the departure of Derrick Gibson (Rome Flynn) in season 12. For another, Kylie Estevez was a part of Kidd’s Girls on Fire program back in season 8. In fact, she was the very first member. The character, played by Katelynn Shennett, has gone through lots of unexpected changes over the years. She thrived in the Girls on Fire program, but in season 9, Kidd discovered that she had started working at a donut shop due to the fact that her father lost his job in the pandemic.
Estevez previously worked at another firehouse Estevez resumed her career, thankfully, in Chicago Fire season 12. She completed the Girls on Fire program and started working on Truck 46 for another firehouse. She obviously has the chops and the courage to hack in alongside her mentor, Kidd. Bringing Estevez into the mix would give Kidd a younger character to bounce off of and mentor, much in the way that Chicago Fire is positioning Jack Damon (Michael Bradway) for Severide. Hopefully this piece of evidence proves to be true, because more Estevez sounds like a win.
