to put her in jail. However, there’s another layer to her motives—Li wants
to protect the real perpetrator, who might be connected to her. Li’s anxiety spiked when Sheila mentioned Tom’s backpack, indicating her involvement in the murder case. It’s worth noting that Li, despite being a doctor, did not attempt to save Tom when he collapsed at the restaurant.
Given her medical knowledge, Li could have easily obtained poison from the hospital. After hearing Sheila’s reference to the backpack, Li’s fear of being exposed prompted her to take immediate action. Spoilers reveal that Li will approach Jack, who is currently in possession of the backpack and may have a hand in Tom and Hollis’s deaths. Li and Jack are executing a covert plan, and she urges Jack to destroy the backpack to eliminate any evidence.
Their scheme, however, hits a snag when someone unexpectedly catches them with the backpack. This sudden interruption jeopardizes their entire plan. With this new twist, it becomes evident that Sheila is innocent, and the police might soon uncover the true culprits—Jack and Li. The unraveling of their conspiracy is bound to have significant repercussions.
