As Yellowstone fans prepare to bid adieu to their favorite TV
series this November, it’s hard to imagine a world where creator
Taylor Sheridan isn’t delving into the dynamics of the Dutton family.
But the TV and film producer always seems to have multiple projects in the works, so it may not come as much of a surprise that he’ll soon be introducing viewers to another clan.
Back in 2022, Taylor announced he had plans to create a brand-new series for Paramount+. This led to the introduction of Landman, which is based on the Boomtown podcast and will follow the Norris family as they interact with the bigwigs working the oil rig industry in West
Texas. More recently, the star-studded cast sat down with Vanity Fair for a photoshoot and interview, giving Taylor Sheridan fans a first-look at the money-hungry big time players who will be gracing the screen in November on Paramount+.
So, what is there to know about Landman, especially with the recently released first looks of the cast and filming? We did some research and compiled all the latest news about the upcoming series:
According to an official press release from Paramount in February 2022, Landman is based on the 11-part podcast Boomtown hosted by Christian Wallace and will give a glimpse into the world of the oil rig industry in West Texas. The statement further notes Landman will feature “an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires that are fueling a boom so big it’s reshaping our climate, our economy and our geopolitics.”
“He writes incredible, complex, dynamic and delicious women who are powerful, vulnerable, flawed,” Demi Moore told Vanity Fair when talking about Taylor Sheridan’s work. “He thinks way ahead. He’s thinking through not just one season. He’s thinking through an epic story.”
And judging by this statement as well as the fact that Demi has already made a “long-term commitment to multiple seasons based solely on Sheridan’s track record,” according to Vanity Fair, the hope is that his newest endeavor isn’t just a one season show.
