Emmerdale’s Chas Dingle star shares on-set injury after being ‘taken out’ by prop

An Emmerdale star has injured herself while filming on the set of the ITV show. Chas Dingle

actress Lucy Pargeter sparked concern from fans after opening up about her painful injury and

sharing an image of her bruised leg on social media. Revealing the cause of her injury, the

47-year-old soap star joked that she had been “taken out by a woolpack bench,” and hilariously added that it was a “blooper” moment. Joking off the incident, Lucy explained she’s been unable to stop herself from swearing after grazing her leg. She wrote: “Don’t worry, it will all be seen on some bloopers show… although I’m not sure they have enough ‘bleeps’ to cover my potty mouth.” Fans were quick to rush to the comment section to share their concern, with one person writing: “Hope you’re ok hon. I think your potty mouth would add to the depth of your stunt.” A second person penned: “Ouch. Hope not too painful.”

A third person chimed in: “Could have been a lot worse Lucy thank God it wasn’t.” Lucy joined Emmerdale in 2002 ( ITV) Fans were left concerned over the image ( lucy_pargeter/Instagram) Lucy joined the cast of Emmerdale in 2002, and her character Chas has been at the centre of important storylines since then, including one involving cancer.

Earlier this year, Lucy spoke about how she didn’t want to shy away from the storyline and how important it was to show that anyone can be affected by cancer at any time: “She saw her own mother ultimately die after an incurable breast cancer diagnosis, so for Chas to receive a breast cancer diagnosis herself, makes it all the more poignant,” she said. “Our audience knows her so well, they have seen her relationships, know her faults, her passions, her insecurities, quirks, and fears.” Lucy, who came third in the 2013 series of I’m a Celebrity, has also suffered heartache in her personal life away from the show.

She welcomed her first child, Lola, in 2005 with former fiance Rudi Coleano and although the couple had tried another baby for 11 years, they were unable to conceive before turning to IVF. In 2017 they were overjoyed when twins Missy and Betsy were born. She previously spoke about the difficult journey and how important it is for her to be open about it. “Having IVF was hard but we feel so lucky the girls have come along. I think it’s important to be honest about everything to do with how they got here,” she told OK! Magazine.
