Virgin River is expected to return for season six in the first half of 2025 on Netflix
Virgin River fans are eagerly awaiting the sixth season, but will Paige make a return
after her dramatic exit in season five?
It’s been eight months since viewers last indulged in the Netflix romantic drama with its two-part Christmas special.
Despite the festive backdrop, there were plenty of unexpected twists and turns to keep audiences gripped, including the shocking discovery of Wes’ (Steve Bacic) body, the husband of Paige Lassiter (played by Lexa Doig).
After accidentally killing him in the second season, Preacher (Colin Lawrence) assisted Paige in hiding the body. However, just as she departs the quaint town, Wes returns to haunt her from beyond the grave.
Will Paige return for Virgin River season 6?
Despite a police investigation looming following the unearthing of Wes’ body, it appears that Paige won’t be returning to Virgin River.
She chose to leave, despite Preacher’s pleas for her to stay, seeking a fresh start with her son Christopher.
The Economic Times revealed that showrunner Patrick Sean Smith confirmed to them that Paige wouldn’t feature in the forthcoming series, with the storyline instead focusing on Preacher and his new love interest.
Preacher met firefighter Kaia (Kandyse McClure) in the fifth season, and despite her estranged husband’s attempts to interfere, he was unsuccessful.
Just when things seem to be going well for the new couple, the discovery of Wes is sure to unsettle Preacher.
The Economic Times reported: “Dispelling rumours of Paige’s return following the discovery of Wes’ body, Smith asserts that season six will not reintroduce Paige.”
“Instead, the aftermath will test Preacher and Kaia’s relationship. With Preacher having moved on, the focus will shift to exploring the dynamics between him and Kaia, particularly with the revelation of a significant secret.”
