Diane Jenkins-Abbott (Susan Walters), may be feeling this way for a deeper cause, according to Abby. Ashley may be putting her inner struggle onto her complex feelings for Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John).

Ashley condemns Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) for being in a similar circumstance, which raises questions of hypocrisy. Jack took a leap of faith when he fell in love with Diane despite her prior transgressions and lack of trustworthiness, just like Ashley is currently doing with the unreliable Tucker.

Abby thinks that Diane’s present plotting may have been sparked by Ashley’s provocative actions towards Diane. It’s hard for Ashley to view Diane as the cruel corporate boss she believes her to be because her major priority is keeping Jack.

The truth may lie in Abby’s judgment, and Ashley’s upcoming nuptials to Tucker may be the underlying problem. Y&R rumors indicate that Tucker and Ashley will soon be married after Jack and Diane just got married.

It is still unclear whether the wedding will ever go place, despite Abby’s invitation to hold it at the Chancellor home. Tucker could be saddened on what should have been their wedding day if Ashley decides to flee due to her feelings.

Abby’s opinion is that Ashley’s internal conflict about her affections for Tucker is at the heart of her current unrest and hostility toward Diane.
