VIRGIN RIVER fans have been left on tenterhooks following the season three finale,
but now actor Alexandra Breckenridge has provided some answers on Jack and Mel’s relationship status.
Virgin River’s third season on Netflix was a rough journey for Jack Sheridan (played by Martin Henderson)
and Mel Monroe’s (Alexandra Breckenridge) relationship. The pair broke up when Mel revealed to Jack she wanted to have a baby with him. Jack initially rejected the idea, leaving Mel as he didn’t want to stand in the way of her becoming a mother. However, their love brought the pair back together but the season finale only complicated things when Mel revealed she was pregnant, only it doesn’t look like it’s Jack’s. So will the pair’s romance overcome yet another obstacle?
Virgin River season four is currently in development, with the stars filming the new chapter now.
Breckenridge let fans have a glimpse behind the scenes of the season on Instagram and confirmed something fans were questioning.
The relationship status of Jack and Mel has been heavily debated by fans following the third season’s conclusion, with viewers unsure about the future for the iconic couple.
Breckenridge gave viewers a video tour of the fourth season set, with Henderson also making an appearance.
Much to the shock of fans, Henderson teased that Jack and Mel had “broken up,” only for Breckenridge to clarify the situation.
Henderson said: “Now that’s we’ve broken up it’s hard…”
Breckenridge debunked Henderson’s tease, however, confirming Jack and Mel hadn’t split.
She continued: “Shhh! I can’t believe you told them!
“He’s lying, he’s lying. Don’t listen to him, he doesn’t know what he’s talking about, they didn’t break up.”
Breckenridge then walked around some of the set, showing Mel’s cabin and Doc Mullins’ (Tim Matheson) office.

Henderson joked: “Yeah, this is the breakup scene we’re doing right now.”
Clearly, Henderson was just poking fun at the fans watching the live stream, but it still sent viewers spinning.
Fans were quick to take to the comment and voice their concern over Jack and Mel’s relationship, with many hoping Henderson was just joking.
“Please don’t break up again,” riandadeunk wrote.
Kathier2017 added: “Your fans sincerely hope you did not break up!!!!!”
Currently, no release date has been confirmed for the fourth season of the show.
However, it is estimated to be premiering mid-2022, based on where it currently is at in the production cycle.
Not only is season four in development, but Netflix confirmed the development on season five as well.
The news broke earlier this year, with both seasons set for back-to-back production.
