Inside Eden Taylor-Draper’s French getaway as Belle Dingle actress takes a break from harrowing domestic abuse storyline

EMMERDALE actress Eden Taylor-Draper has been making the most of a break

away from the countryside. The actress, who has played Belle Dingle since 2005, has been

enjoying a summer holiday in France with her partner Ed Lewis. The actress

uploaded pictures from her French getaway to Instagram, including exploring Bordeaux, climbing sand dunes and enjoying pastries and coffee. In one of her Instagram pictures, a happy Eden is seen beaming with boyfriend Ed for a sunny selfie. The couple have been together since 2016. In another snap, a delicious looking set up of coffee cups with pain au chocolat is laid out on a table. Currently in the soap, Belle is facing a harrowing and distressing storyline as she has suffered months of abuse at husband Tom’s hands. Now as she discovers she’s pregnant with their first child, she is adamant she can’t have his baby. Viewers have watched as a heartbroken Belle visited an abortion clinic to terminate the pregnancy. A tearful Belle told the nurse: “I haven’t told my husband. And it’s not because I don’t love him, because I do, and none of this is his fault, it’s all me.

Actress Eden Taylor-Draper has been enjoying France for a summer holiday as her on-screen character belle Dingle faces a harrowing storyline.

“I just don’t think I’d be good. It’s not the right time, I’m sorry.” When asked if she wanted more time to think about the decision, Belle replied: “No. I don’t want to go through with this pregnancy, my mind’s made up.” Last week viewers watched as Tom’s controlling behaviour worsened, as Belle went through with the termination yet lied to Tom and told him she was miscarrying. According to Belle’s story, she went to the hospital and learned she had experienced a miscarriage. Distraught, Tom said the hospital was negligent for not contacting him when Belle got there. An angry Tom was seen to be getting suspicious over his wife’s story and by the end of the episode he had checked Belle’s locations through her phone and her parking ticket for the day, which confirmed his wife’s claimed movements. Over the past few months, Tom’s behaviour has included controlling and manipulating his wife, as well as subjecting her to physical abuse. Previously aired scenes saw Belle uncover Tom was tracking her movements through her mobile phone – and also how she has worked around this to reach her clinic appointments.
