VIRGIN RIVER star Alexandra Breckenridge has teased the upcoming
fourth season with a short behind-the-scenes video on Instagram and
may have given away some spoilers in the process.
The fourth season of Virgin River is one of the most highly anticipated upcoming Netflix releases. With new episodes coming next year, a recent clip from the set of the smalltown romance released on Instagram has led some fans to believe there could be a wedding on the cards when the show continues.
Viewers are more convinced than ever that Virgin River favourites Hope McCrea (played by Annette O’Toole) and Doc Mullins (Tim Matheson) could tie the knot again in the upcoming season.
The couple have been married for 20 years but were considering a divorce when fans first met them in the first season.
However, they later agreed to renew their vows after a misunderstanding with Muriel (Teryl Rothery).
Although they had started preparations for a huge ceremony in front of the whole town, O’Toole’s absence in the third season prevented this from happening.
Their renewals may have occurred off-screen, but the latest set footage seems to confirm the whole town will be gathered for an important event to kick off the season.
Hope’s role in season three was heavily reduced amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Now O’Toole is finally able to return to set, Virgin River season four may finally give fans what they’ve been waiting for since the end of season two.
After Breckenridge confirmed O’Toole and Matheson were both on set for the next season, several fans took to the comments of her latest Instagram post with their theories.
User annalisapurcell said: “Looks like they are filming a wedding.”
And mytambyzafndrkt commented: “There are Doc and Hope. You know what I mean ….. a wedding.”
Several other fans were convinced the cast of the series were about to film a long-awaited wedding episode.
Hope and Doc still need to renew their vows on-screen, and the premiere of season four could be the perfect opportunity.
Many more fans agreed, claiming the set location would definitely be an appropriate venue for the ceremony.
IG user book_record_and_cd_guy replied: “Spoilers. That looks like a wedding.”
While others couldn’t help but notice Breckenridge and the cast were dressed for a formal occasion.
Forloveofvirginriver said: “Now my head is buzzing with questions on what scene they’re dressed for… wedding reception?”
Even so, there are also plenty of fans still waiting for central couple Mel Monroe (Breckenridge) and Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson) to take their relationship to the next step.
Sadly, Henderson doesn’t seem to be present in Breckenridge’s revealing new video.
However, the Netflix series is naturally spoiler-shy, and Henderson could be just out of frame to avoid giving the game away in the run-up to season four.
