Coronation Street has revealed Aadi Aalahan’s risky new scheme – and he’s working with an unlikely source.
With Aadi still trying to cover up the fact that he accidentally spiked Lauren, things got even worse when a masked robber stole money from the corner shop in today’s episode.
In the aftermath, he told Asha that the robber threatened him before stealing from the safe, but his sister reassured him that the incident wasn’t his fault.
When the police arrived, Aadi told Jess that while they’d lost £6,000 in cash, they were luckily insured – but Bernie realised that he was acting shifty.
It was later revealed that the robber was Brody, who was working with Aadi on this scheme. Aadi was angry that Brody had carried out the plan in the middle of the day, and he would have to wait for the insurance pay out to get his cash.
Bernie arrived home and overheard the pair’s row, and she demanded to know what was going on between Aadi and Brody.
Aadi cracked and explained to Bernie that the robbery was a set up so they could claim on the insurance. He is in need of cash because the business has racked up £12,000 of debt while Dev has been away.
The missing money was hidden upstairs, so Aadi intended to use this cash to pay off the loan he’d taken out, then get the shop back on track with the insurance money.
Bernie was furious that he’d roped Brody into his scheme, and Aadi pleaded with her not to tell Dev or the police about the fraud.
She was unsure what to do, but at that moment, Sarah called round to tell her that Kit has changed his mind and now wants to get to know Brody – though he is concerned about his son’s criminal past.
Not wanting to jeopardise Brody and Kit’s potential relationship by telling the police about the scam, Bernie decided to keep quiet.
