EastEnders fans ‘work out’ what’s next for Oscar Branning as they predict ‘chaos’

EastEnders fans are claiming that they’ve ‘worked out’ what’s next for Oscar Branning as they predicted ‘chaos’ with him going forward.

The son of Max and Tanya Branning made his return to the BBC soap for the first time in eight years on Monday night (July 14).

Newcomer Pierre Moullier is playing the character, who was initially played by Gabriel Miller-Williams from 2007–2008 before Neo Hall took on the role.

Last seen being played by Charlee Hall, Oscar’s last storyline arrived in 2017 when he paid a brief visit to Max on Father’s Day.

With Max’s return confirmed over the weekend, Oscar’s new actor’s first scenes provided an insight into what viewers can expect from him.

Lauren Branning headed to a youth detention centre to pick up her younger brother, who was wearing an ankle monitor and had a cigarette behind his ear.

Revealing that he needed to move in with her after Tanya kicked him out, Oscar grimly noted that a friend had tried to petrol bomb their home.

Once Peter and Ian Beale arrived on the scene, a gang were waiting for Oscar to emerge from the detention centre, threatening Peter and Lauren with a cricket bat.

Following some tense scenes, including Peter and Lauren pretending to be cops, they managed to escape the gang by driving a van speedily back to Albert Square.

Once back in his original home, Oscar reunited with his uncle Jack Branning, who was worried about the path the youngster is potentially heading down.

The episode displayed Oscar as a humorous individual, joking that he would try his best not to seduce Peter and making light of his dark situation.

Oscar managed to persuade Lauren into letting him stay by mentioning that their late sister Abi would have done it in a heartbeat.

However, the episode concluded with Oscar clutching a knife after getting a message from ‘Fat Mike’ intensely saying they’d find him.

Over on the EastEnders Reddit page, a number of fans are fearing that Oscar’s past with the gang is going to haunt him moving forward.

@GothicGolem29 said: “Love his character, he’s so funny the seagull line and saying Peter should get a DNA test were fantastic! As for storyline, I think he’s going to have to deal with an attack from that criminal who fire bombed the house.” @C4923 added: “I like him. I’m praying that the show doesn’t waste this actor or character. I’d hate for them to run out of ideas for him in 2 months, and shelve him for 3 years.”

@charming_Register_79 wrote: “I feel like him and Freddie would get on so well tbh! I would like him to be a friend for Will but I feel like we don’t see enough of Will to know if they’d have much in common, I don’t just wanna group them together as friends just because they’re the same age! He is a breathe of fresh air so far and I know they’re gonna go down a path of him being involved in crime and gangs after today’s episode which is such an obvious and overdone trope for teenage boys in soaps tbh.”

@MarkMcG97 commented: “Oscar is hilarious and I think he is bisexual or pansexual based on comments he makes to both women and men and he refers to some blokes as fit and based on some comments about the thugs that Oscar may have slept with some of them. Oscar is definitely going to be trouble.” @sir_thrillho posted: “As a bisexual person, immediate bi or pan vibes to me. Hopefully they actually do this and it’s respectful because god knows we need bi+ rep on TV.”
