The new clips, shared by TVLine, are part of a featurette featuring Baccarin and Fire Country star Max Thieriot as both walk audiences through the scope of the new show. According to the outlet, CBS will air several Fire Country reruns this Friday, including the backdoor pilot episode that first introduced the straight-shooting Sheriff Mickey Fox. It’s an event fans won’t want to miss, as the episodes will be interspersed with new glimpses of Sheriff Country through the aforementioned featurettes.

‘Sheriff Country’ Will Include Lots of Crossovers with ‘Fire Country’

While both shows share the same universe, Sheriff Country promises a darker tone, befitting its police procedural format. The series will focus on the underbelly of Edgewater, a side of the town rarely explored in the parent show. The new clips hint at this grittier focus, showing Sheriff Fox making an arrest on the street and teaming up with Deputy Nathan Boone (Matt Lauria) to break up a tense, gun-drawn standoff. The footage also suggests Sheriff Country will feature frequent crossovers with Fire Country, offering the chance for a deeper exploration of familiar characters. In one standout scene, Thieriot’s Bode joins Fox and her half-sister, Cal Fire Chief Sharon Leone (Diane Farr), as they uncover a massive stash of cash buried in the woods.

Sheriff Country will also explore Fox’s personal struggles, particularly her relationship with her father Wes (Earl Brown), an ex-con who is an off-the-grid marijuana grower, as well as “a mysterious incident involving her daughter Skye (Amanda Arcuri), who struggles with addiction. Other cast members include Christopher Gorham (Ugly Betty) as Travis Fraley, Mickey’s lawyer ex-husband and father of their child Skye, as well as Michele Weaver (The Pitt) as a deputy named Cassidy Campbell. Caroline Rhea (Holiday Mismatch) will recur as Gina, Fox’s assistant.

Sheriff Country premieres this Fall and will air preceding Fire Country Season 4. Stay tuned for future updates.
