During this time, she befriended troubled teenager Dylan, who tried to protect April throughout her ordeal until she eventually returned home.

Dylan later came to the village seeking to overcome his drug addiction and was last seen in March, heading to a rehab centre funded by Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock).

Speculation is rife among Emmerdale enthusiasts, with many theorising that newcomer Ray might be connected to Dylan, possibly even being his father.

If this theory holds water, it raises questions about how Ray would react to Marlon’s role in the teenager’s overdose.

The show’s official X account sparked the conversation, asking: “Ray will soon be entering the village! But what will he be getting up to? ..”

One fan chimed in, saying: “I heard the rumour he was gonna be involved in a County Lanes story ft April, Dylan etc #Emmerdale”.
