Two Coronation Street characters confront horrifying truth – did they attack Gary Windass?

Coronation Street has shared a new spoiler clip in which two characters confront a horrifying truth.

Next week, Nina and Summer remember an altercation on the night they took LSD but are unsure whether it was a hallucination.

In previous scenes, Gary stormed out on his wife Maria after Lou Michaelis plotted to drive a wedge between the couple, threatening to destroy their marriage.

Despite telling Maria that he was going to stay with his mother, Gary hasn’t been heard from in nearly three weeks and Maria is starting to panic about her missing husband’s whereabouts.

However, viewers are aware that Gary was hospitalised and is currently lying unconscious in a hospital bed after being brutally beaten by an unknown assailant.

In a newly-released clip, Summer tells Nina that the date of Gary’s disappearance is a coincidence, but a worried Nina insists that they didn’t hallucinate what happened when they were high. Summer refuses to listen, and Nina is forced to accept her denial.

While Summer and Nina know is that Gary is missing, they are unaware that he is actually in a coma and fighting for his life.

Are the girls responsible for Gary’s attack, or does his mystery female visitor have something to do with it? A flashback next week will reveal the truth.

Speaking recently about Gary’s growing bond with Lou and her fight with Maria, actor Mikey North said: “He thinks that there was always more to it, and he’s not entirely sure that Maria’s telling the truth as to what happened, which drives them apart even more, and pushes him more towards Lou, because he’s not entirely sure that she’s telling the truth.

“He feels sorry for Lou and sees similarities between himself and her,” he added.

“He saw how bad Mick could be, and he wanted to stick up for her a little bit, but Maria’s obviously of the other mind.

“Maria sees right through, where Gary doesn’t. Trouble is going to lie ahead for him…”
