Tonight’s episode (Fox, 8/7c) kicks off the procedural’s two-part series finale, which sends an asteroid barreling towards Austin, potentially posing an “extinction-level” threat. As if that wasn’t enough, TVLine’s exclusive sneak peek of the show’s penultimate episode reveals that the 126 will also be combatting a nuclear meltdown — and it doesn’t exactly look like Owen is up to the task. So, how should fans prepare themselves for the show’s two-part farewell? “Don’t get too comfortable,” Natacha Karam (Marjan) tells TVLine. “Every time you think it’s over, it’s not, so keep those tissues next to you. It’s a wild journey. You’ll be on the edge of your seat.”
To reveal any details about the 9-1-1: Lone Star‘s final hours would be to spoil the show’s most apocalyptic event yet, but Karam does say this: “There’s a line in the last episode where Judd says, ‘I love you all more than I love my own brothers,’ and that line gets me every time. When I watched that scene for the first time, tears were pooling on my chin.”
Elsewhere in Monday’s episode, per the official synopsis, “Owen makes a decision about his future, Tommy receives devastating news, T.K. and Carlos worry about adopting Jonah, and Mateo gets his immigration status threatened after an altercation.” You know, on top of the asteroid and nuclear meltdown.
