In Emmerdale spoilers for tonight (Wednesday, November 20), Moira and
Cain Dingle star in a special episode as Moira goes in for brain tumour surgery.
In a change to the show’s usual format, Cain’s story will play out in reverse chronological order.
Speaking about this special episode, Emmerdale producer Sophie Roper said: “This conceptual episode is a tale of two halves as we explore Cain and Moira’s separate journeys on the day of Moira’s brain surgery.
“We firstly dramatise Moira’s experience as she undergoes the operation before breaking with soap form, and playing the second half of the episode in reverse order to reveal Cain’s journey, whilst Moira was in theatre.”
Here’s what is happening in Emmerdale tonight.
1. Moira goes in for surgery
Earlier this week, Moira Dingle returned home from visiting son Adam Barton. She wanted to see her older son as part of a “farewell tour” just in case the worst happens during her surgery.
She continued to plan for the worst case scenario, including writing a living will. This left Cain struggling to deal with an uncertain future. Tonight, it’s the day of Moira’s operation and Cain continues to struggle with the threat of losing his wife.
2. Cain has blood on his hand
Emmerdale’s special episode will follow Cain and show how he copes with the day as he anxiously waits for news.
Cain’s story will play out in reverse chronological order. It will start with Cain’s brother Caleb Miligan feeling dismayed to find Cain drunk and with bloodied hands. But what exactly happened beforehand to lead him to that point? And will Moira be okay?
