1Shocking Twist! ‘Tracker’ Season 3 Sets Crossover with ‘Fire Country’

In a move set to ignite both fanbases, CBS is bringing together two of its most compelling leading men—Colter Shaw (Tracker) and Bode Donovan (Fire Country)—in a fiery, two-part crossover that promises action, heart, and the beginning of something even bigger.

A Collision Course in the California Wilds

Set to air in the back half of Tracker Season 3, the crossover begins with a raging forest fire in Northern California. Amid the chaos, a prison transport van crashes, and one of the escapees—a former arsonist turned reluctant whistleblower—vanishes into the wilderness. He’s carrying explosive evidence that could expose a powerful conspiracy involving falsified wildfire reports and corrupt contractors.

Cue Cal Fire. Bode Donovan, now a respected figure in the department despite his troubled past, is deployed to battle the blaze and hunt the missing man. But he’s not alone in the search. Enter Colter Shaw, hired by the whistleblower’s estranged sister, who’s convinced her brother isn’t running from justice—but from danger.

When Bode and Colter cross paths, sparks fly—figuratively and literally. Both are lone wolves, driven by justice and haunted by trauma. Their first meeting is tense, but when the fire intensifies and the mystery deepens, they’re forced to rely on each other.

“It’s the ultimate meeting of fire and strategy,” says executive producer Tia Napolitano. “Colter is methodical, analytical. Bode leads with his heart and gut. Together, they push each other in ways neither expected.”

High-Stakes Action Meets Emotional Depth

From explosive fire-rescue sequences in smoldering redwoods to an adrenaline-pumping manhunt, the crossover will showcase some of the most ambitious action scenes ever filmed for either series. But it’s not just about the thrills.

Fans will witness unexpected vulnerability from both leads—Colter, as he observes Bode’s emotional attempt to reconnect with his family; and Bode, as he learns to respect Colter’s sharp, methodical mindset. Their evolving dynamic adds layers to the drama—and to the growing sense that their worlds aren’t as far apart as they once seemed.

A Glimpse at What’s Next

The event wraps with a chilling teaser that hints at a shared enemy still lurking in the shadows—suggesting this may only be the beginning of a broader CBS procedural universe. Could more crossovers be on the horizon?
